Cabin at the Swinging Bridge is located within 5-10
minutes of Mount Mitchell Golf & Country Club, as well
as Mount Mitchell State Park. That puts golf and some
amazing views and hiking trails all within a few minutes
from your stay. For those unaware, Mount Mitchell is the
highest elevation east of the Mississippi River!
The Toe River Valley is rich in history with many points
of interest less than a 30 minute drive away including
the Appalachian Trail and Blue Ridge Parkway. Also
nearby are Roan Mountain State Park, Grandfather
Mountain, Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club, the NC
Mineral Museum and the cabin is just downstream of the
Carolina Hemlock Trail. The area is also very rich in
culture and the arts as expressed annually during the
Mt. Mitchell Crafts Fair, Spring Arts Festival and Old-Timey
Fall Festival in Burnsville.
The Rhododendron Festival and Artisans Studio Tour in
Bakersville and The NC Mineral & Gem Festival and
Hillbilly Heritage Festival in Spruce Pine are also
favorite visits.

Whitewater Rafting, Hiking, Golf, Mountain Biking and
more is all within the area!
